Answer to Question 1

Answer: High self-esteem is generally considered good, while low self-esteem is considered bad. But it is really more complicated than that. High self-esteem feels good and leads people to initiate action. Low self-esteem is both a component of depression and predicts depression over time. Self-esteem does not cause a range of positive outcomes, however.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: The four aspects of authenticity are awareness, unbiased processing, behavior, and authentic relationships. Authenticity is the extent to which a person feels aligned with his or her true self. Awareness refers to your awareness of your motives, strengths, and weaknesses. Unbiased processing is the ability to see the good and the bad in the world and make decisions based on this information. Behavior is acting in a way that reflects the true self. Authentic relationships refers to relationships in which someone can be who they really are.
