Answer to Question 1

ANS: F
Although there are some sediments that have the distinct smell of hydrogen sulfide, most are actually
odorless. Information can be found in the section Sediments Vary Greatly in Appearance.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: T
The difference in types of igneous rocks is based on how quickly they cool. Basalt solidifies quickly so
the obvious crystals don't have time to form. Granite has visible crystals which form due to the slower
cooling processes. Information can be found in the section Sediments May be Classified by Source.
