Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
The North American continental shelf was exposed above sea level during the last ice age. Rivers
traversed the shelf and transported sediment onto the shelf. This allows sediments from the last ice
age to remain on the ocean floor. Information can be found in the section Neritic Sediments Overlie
Continental Margins.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Ooze is created when at least 30 of the sediment is biogenous in origin. There are two types of oozes
that form. Calcareous oozes are made from the shells of foraminifera, pteropods, and coccolithophores.
These are unable to form below a certain depth. Information can be found in the section Pelagic
Sediments Vary in Composition and Thickness

The human body's pharmacokinetics are quite varied. Our hair holds onto drugs longer than our urine, blood, or saliva. For example, alcohol can be detected in the hair for up to 90 days after it was consumed. The same is true for marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, methamphetamine, and nicotine.
