Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
The sea level has an effect on submarine canyons. When the sea level decreases, an erosion can create
a canyon especially near rivers. When the sea level rises again the canyon remains. Turbidity currents
create movements of sediments that can cut into a canyon. Earthquakes can also shake loose boulders
and sand that rush down the edge of the shelf and create submarine canyons. Information can be found
in the section Continental Margins May Be Active or Passive.

Answer to Question 2

ANS:Answer
should include:
The Coriolis effect is the deflection of moving air and water masses. This is the result of
the eastward rotation of the Earth.
In the Northern Hemisphere, moving objects move clockwise from its initial trajectory.
The Southern Hemisphere's deflection occurs to the left of counterclockwise. The
observed deflection is the result of an observers moving frame of reference on the
already spinning Earth.
The Coriolis effect is at different rates along different latitudes. Remember the Buffalo
and Quinto example. Buffalo moves slower than Quinto to maintain the same directional
position. It is dependent on the frame of reference.
The Coriolis effect deflects ocean and atmospheric movements. This shifting allows doe
global circulation of the different air density masses from the uneven solar heating of the
Earth. The most visible effect is at mid-latitudes where there is a frictionless flow of
fluids.

IgA antibodies protect body surfaces exposed to outside foreign substances. IgG antibodies are found in all body fluids. IgM antibodies are the first type of antibody made in response to an infection. IgE antibody levels are often high in people with allergies. IgD antibodies are found in tissues lining the abdomen and chest.

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
