This tells us that cleaning a spill involves trade-offs. The best way to deal with oil spills is to prevent them.

Marine sources account for about 16 of the total animal protein consumed by humans, and demand for food is increasing as human population increases. If stocks are fished beyond their maximum sustainable yield, catch will decrease as the marine populations decline.
