Answer to Question 1

Spring tides occur each time there is a new or full moon. The solar bulge and lunar bulge are in alignment because the sun, moon, and Earth are in a straight line.
The reinforcement of the solar and lunar tides causes extreme high tides and the lowest of low tides. There are organisms in tune with these tides for breeding purposes.
Neap tides happen with the moon, Earth, and sun form a right angle. This corresponds to first and third moon phases. The solar and lunar bulges are perpendicular to each other.
Neap tide alignment of the solar and lunar bulges creates the lowest high tides and the highest low tides.
These types of tides are not seasonal. They each cycle ever two weeks with the phases of the moon.
