ANS: C
Scientists tag carbon by radioactivity. The c-14 behaves the same way normal c-12 does, but it can
easily be tracked through photosynthesis. Information can be found in the section Measuring Primary

ANS: C
Coccolithophores are able to utilize brightly lit ocean surfaces like the Mediterranean. Their numbers
can bloom, making the water appear chalky or milky. These plankton are capable of building seabed
deposits of ooze, like that at the White Cliffs of Dover in England. Information can be found in the
