There have been mathematical models used to predict the future state of our climate should we remain
on our current trajectory. These models can be applied to any system though. Information can be found
in the section Human Activity is Causing Global Oceanic Change.

The extra nutrients often come from sewage and fertilizers. Eutrophication occurs at the mouths of
almost all the world's rivers. Information can be found in the section Marine Pollutants May Be
