Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
Wave period does not change as the depth in which the wave is moving changes. The wavelength
shortens as the waves go from deep to shallow water. Information can be found in the section The
Behavior of Waves Is Influenced by the Depth of Water through Which They Are Moving.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
Even though there are drastic changes to the wave as it approached shore, it does not have a huge crest.
It surges ashore much like a very fast tide would. Information can be found in the section Water
Displacement Causes Tsunamis and Seismic Sea Waves.
