Fringing reefs cling to the margins of land. They form in areas of low rainfall runoff. These reefs
connect to the shore very close to the water's surface especially on newer tropical islands. Information

Deltas do not form at every river mouth that carries sediment. They do need a broad continental shelf,
but there are other factors as well. Tidal ranges are usually low while waves and currents are mild.
