ANS: A
The diverting and damming of rivers cut the supply for new sediments to reach beaches. This in
addition to the building of harbors and property development has increased coastal erosion.

ANS: C
The rate of erosion also depends on the hardness and resistance of the rock. Tidal range also has a
large effect on the rate of erosion. Information can be found in the section Erosional Processes
