Effect includes cross-trained employees are more challenged, more knowledgeable, more interesting, and generally happier.

Opportunities include the following:
Take on new technical and communication challenges.
Learn more about the organization and the flow of work.
Get more exposure by working with new employees.
Get acknowledgment from management.
