Answer to Question 1

In the 1914 case of Weeks v. United States, the Court introduced the Exclusionary Rule. This judicially created concept prohibited the admission of any and all evidence obtained by or derived from federal agents in violation of constitutional provisions. Subsequently, the prohibition was applied to the actions of state officers in Mapp v. Ohio. In its justification, the Court opined that the exclusion of such evidence would deter future police misconduct.

Answer to Question 2

My role as an officer is to protect and serve. I am sworn to protect the citizens and enforce the laws.
