Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

A file header is encoded into the beginning of a file and cannot be changed by a user. A file extension is the 3 characters that appear after the period in a file name. The extension tells the OS what program to use to access that file, but can be changed by a user to hide data or confuse investigators. File headers are therefore more useful to the investigator in determining the real file type.
