Usama bin Laden became the charismatic and instrumental leader of the Jihadist Salafi movement, after the Soviet-Afghan War. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was a conservative and radical cleric that created a fundamentalist movement within the Shiite known as Khomeinism. Hassan Nasrallah created the paramilitary organization known as Hezbollah.
