Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:Wilson
's pieces have borrowed from several media, cultures, and historical periods.
Although some of Wilson's pieces have included spoken portions, many did not have texts
in the traditional sense.
Wilson's work has consisted essentially of visual pieces, enhanced by music and sound, in
which juxtaposed visual images appeared, disappeared, grew, diminished, and
metamorphosed over time.
Time has been an important element; typically, it was slowed until movement became
almost imperceptible, permitting every detail to be experienced; different elements within a
scene progressed at different tempos.
It has been challenging for others to restage Wilson's work because the performance
aspects of visual image, time, sound, and movement were of equal or greater importance
than scripted dialogue.
Adding to the difficulty, many of Wilson's early pieces were very long, lasting between
four to twelve hours.
Likewise, the some of Wilson's pieces tend to be quite large in scale
