Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:According
to Aristotle, diction, the fourth of the six basic elements of theatre, involves all
of the spoken language in a play.
Diction can impart information.
It can help give characters nuance and complexity characters.
It can direct the audience's attention to important plot elements.
It can reveal the themes and ideas of a play.
It can help establish tone or mood and internal logic.
It can establish tempo and rhythm.
Diction is different from everyday speech because it is more abstract and formal than
that of normal conversation, since the author always selects, arranges, and heightens
language regardless of genre
