Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

A play with a serial structure is composed of a series of scenes that do not follow a continuous story or even include the same characters. A playwright might use the form for popular entertainmentfor example, to provide many different types of acts, such as jugglers, singers, dancers, or magicians, on the same bill. Playwrights might use the structure to give a varied perspective on a subject through the juxtaposition of characters and events rather than through the progression of a single story. Anna Deveare Smith uses this structure in Fires in the Mirror to present the Crown Heights riots from the points of view of numerous people. A playwright can use serial structure to explore a particular theme through a mixture of styles and forms. In The Colored Museum, for example, George C. Wolfe offers a variety of perspectives on how African Americans express racial identity in a world saturated with imposed cultural definitions.
