Define both mercantilism and laissez-faire as schools of economic thought. Explain why mercantilism fits with colonialism; i.e.; why would states that have mercantilist ideologies desire to colonize? Explain why laissez-faire fits with post-colonial ideas.

Mercantilism is a government trade strategy for accumulating state wealth and power
by encouraging exports and discouraging imports.
classical liberal economic theory. Laissez-faire economics is the philosophical principle
of free markets and free trade to give people free choices with little government
regulation.

Answer to Question 2

Multinational corporations (MNCs) are business enterprises headquartered in one state
that invest and operate extensively in many other states.
