The American Fashion Awards is an annual publicity event that honors the best fashion design talent. Go online to find information about the 2002 American Fashion Awards; then answer the following questions.
  Who were named womenswear and menswear designers of the year at the 2002 American Fashion Awards?
  Who sponsored the 2002 awards show? When and where was the show held?

Womenswear Designer of the Year: Narciso Rodriguez; Menswear Designer of the Year: Marc Jacobs
The show was sponsored by cut-crystal company Swarovski. The show was held June 5, 2002, at the New York Public Library.
One possible answer is to send a news release to the media announcing the award in the hope of gaining free publicity.

Japanese design first made a real impression on the fashion world in 1982, when 12 designers showed their collections in Paris at the pret-a-porter (ready-to-wear) shows.
The ''mode Japonaise'' or ''Japonaiserie'' look is characterized by inventive shapes and monochrome tones, particularly the use of black.
Of the designers shown on the site, Maruyama Keita seems to use traditional Oriental motifs most extensively.
