Discuss how technology has changed Fashion Weeks in the last five years. Discuss at least 3 alternatives and how successful these alternatives might be in replacing the traditional activities of fashion week in the U.S. markets as well as foreign markets.

Answer to Question 1

Students may address web-casts, i-phone applications, social media sites, blogs, etc as the shows
are taking place. They should include the impact of fast fashion on the industry as these
productions are available as they occur for companies such as Zara and H&M create knock-offs as
the productions hit the internet or as their reps communication the show's trends to it's corporate
headquarters. The access that smaller businesses can use that was not available in the past due to
cost factors.

Answer to Question 2

These could possibly make the use of the formal fashion show obsolete as the costs are much
lower and access is unlimited.
