Answer to Question 1

Wool and hair canvas were pad stitched to the front and shoulder to support the fabric. Cotton and hair canvas were stitched in to support the collar and lapels. Fusible weft interfacing, tricot and other nonwoven fusibles now take the place of both types of canvas.

Answer to Question 2
