Answer to Question 1

To enhance and support the work that children do; to scaffold learning when appropriate and provide purposeful activities; to act as a role model.

Answer to Question 2

They are already struggling to learn the meaning and pronunciation of words in English. They do not have the ability to distinguish between a play word and an actual word.
