Answer to Question 1

When children are observed in everyday situations rather than in the controlled conditions Piaget used, different interpretations might be made; childrens abilities are not homogeneous within a stage; environmental factors such as the kinds of experiences children are exposed to and the kind of education they receive can influence the rate of intellectual development.

Answer to Question 2

It does not take into account developmental processes that are not social; Vygotsky did not consider how much children affect their own learning environment.
