ANS: Sensitive periods are stages of development early in life where children are able to more easily learn particular skills or behaviors due to curiosity.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: John Dewey believed that intellectual skills emerged from a childs own activity and play and were not due to his/her interaction with manipulatives or what Froebel termed as gifts.
