ANSWER: Gardners theory is that there is not just one kind of smart that different people have strengths in different areas such as linguistic, mathematical, spatial, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, natural. He and others contend that most educational systems recognize only the linguistic and mathematical while they ignore the others.
