Defend or refute the following: The use of a book series is never an appropriate approach because the quality is poor.

Answer to Question 1

This can be partially refuted. It is true that some content area series of books are of uneven quality due to the fact that several different writers may be used within the series. It becomes important, therefore, to carefully examine each book from a series that is being considered for use. It may be unwise to reject a whole series due to one or two poorly written volumes.
