Answer to Question 1

supervise

Answer to Question 2

The child requires approximately 40 calories  45 pounds, whereas his mother needs approximately 18 calories  120 pounds. The child's basal metabolic rate is significantly higher and he/she is also experiencing periods of rapid growth which translated into a high energy demand. Although the mother's body continues to undergo some growth (cell repair and maintenance) the rate is significantly slower and, thus, she requires less energy. In addition, the four-year-old is probably more physically active than his/her mother
