Answer to Question 1

Some children who are dual-language learners may be at risk for challenging behaviors due to moving to a new country with a different culture and language, experiencing upheaval due to the immigration process, and/or living in poverty.

Answer to Question 2

This model begins with creating positive relationships among adults and children that promote healthy social and emotional development. The next level uses preventive practices and maintains high-quality environments to ensure the best for the children present. The third level focuses on teaching strategies that promote healthy social and emotional skills for children. The top of the pyramid deals with intensive intervention strategies and behaviors for the child who needs extra help based on assessment recommendations.
