Answer to Question 1

Make sure you have authorization slips for all children. The driver should be licensed, insured, and familiar with vehicle and be able to drive defensively. Plan out the route and arrange for backup in case of emergency. Children should be told about the trip, route, and other trip details before the trip. On the day of the trip, be sure to have a proper ratio of adults to children and carry the authorization slips. Pay attention to traffic, do not allow loud music in the vehicle, and if children are noisy, pull over until they clam down. Observe safety rules, buckle up, and provide books or other items to keep children busy while driving.

Answer to Question 2

Gates should be at least 55 inches high and should be self-closing and have a lock. No chairs or other objects such as toys should be around that would attract children to the area. The pool should have a rigid cover and nonskid surface. If children are in the pool, do not use a floatation device. ALWAYS carefully supervise children around any body of water.

These people included 55 lung cancer patients, 31 breast cancer patients, and 83 cancer-free patients. The dogs detected 54 of the 55 lung cancer patients as having cancer, detected 28 of the 31 breast cancer patients, and gave only three false-positive results (detecting cancer in people who didn't have it).
