Ones with both literary quality and cultural consciousness, free of bias and stereotypes, and realistically portrayed. They should depict and respect individuals of varying abilities in a wide range of occupations. Drawings and photographs need to be authentic and reflect the variety found in any ethnic group. Characters should include intelligent problem solvers, and character values should portray the diversity that exists in any group of people.
