Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:
For many parents, their experience with their first child explodes many myths and fantasies they have about being parents. They begin to compare these images with the reality of their experience. The issues they face with one child are altered when and if other children are born. As each child grows, the parents also adapt, and as they gain confidence in themselves, they change some of their child-rearing practices.
