Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: Storytelling may be losing out to books, print media, radio, television, and computers. They fill us with visual images that once came only through the oral tradition.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER: Lap reading encourages active participation. It is vital so that children acquire book language and a sense of story. Preschool children still need to spend this type of significant time with adults.
