ANSWER: We are concerned about the whole child, including the child's aesthetic development; children who appreciate beauty in the physical world are better able to appreciate more abstract beauty of other cultures, literature, etc.; children with aesthetic sense are more likely to develop into adults who know and appreciate good design; it is important for children to value the arts and directly participate in a variety of the
arts; aesthetic experiences foster concept development.
