Answer: Aphasia is a fundamental disturbance of the production and comprehension of speech that is associated with brain damage. Anomia (without name) refers to a difficulty in choosing words or using the wrong word in place of the correct word. All forms of aphasia include varying degrees of anomia.

Answer: Damage to the left frontal lobe rostral to the primary motor cortex produces difficulties with the motor memories of speech. The primary characteristics of Broca's aphasia include agrammatism, anomia (word choice), and difficulty in articulation.
