Miguel is a 12-year-old Hispanic male attending Northern Elementary. He is the oldest of seven children. Miguel's parents are divorced and he has little contact with his father. His mother is employed but earns minimum wage and works from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. There is little supervision in the home and Miguel is forced to take on the role of parent with his siblings.
