Answer to Question 1

Answer: Limb apraxia refers to difficulties movement the arms, fingers, and hands. This deficit is caused by damage to the left parietal hemisphere. Damage to the right parietal hemisphere, on the other hand, causes constructional apraxia wherein patients have difficulty constructing or drawing objects.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: The reticular formation controls the activity of the gamma motor system, which in turn controls the activity of the intrafusal muscle fibers; activation of these fibers will cause the extrafusal fibers to show more overall contractions. The reticular formation can thus indirectly increase or decrease overall muscle tone.
