Why would a laser printer be considered valuable evidence if it, along with the rest of the devices in the office, was shut off?


◦ A printer's RAM is not volatile like that of a computer. Files might still be recovered if they were sent to the printer.
◦ The spooler file is stored on flash RAM in the printer.
◦ The toner cartridge retains a latent image of the last page printed even after the printer is turned off.
◦ The printer wouldn't be considered evidence.
