Question 1

This 27-year-old male was found to be a match for his sibling who has leukemia. He was brought to the operating room for harvesting of his bone marrow for transplantation into his sister. Prior to surgery he was worked up and was found to be a good candidate for surgery. Surgery went well without complications. His sister is scheduled for bone marrow transplant tomorrow morning.

Question 2

The patient is a 32-year-old female who has noted tenderness in the neck area along with some swelling. On examination, she was found to have enlarged cervical lymph nodes. It was recommended that she have a biopsy done. She was, therefore, admitted today to undergo needle biopsy of the cervical lymph nodes. The needle biopsy was performed without complications and the aspirate was sent for pathological examination. She will be released to home and will see me in two days for discussion of the biopsy results.
