Answer 1

The term greenwashing can refer to a tour operator attempting to attract clients by appearing to be environmentally responsible. An ecotourist, looking for a tour operator who is environmentally and socioculturally responsible, may ask if the operator has been certified by an organization such as Green Globe 21 in order to be sure that the operator is more than just green in appearance.

Answer 2

In the UNWTO ecotourism studies, ecotourists from Spain, France, and the UK are mostly people from relatively high social brackets with relatively high levels of education. The studies also indicated that the number of ecotourists from each of these markets was expected to grow in the coming years.
