Answer 1

Room starts represent the start of construction of a new hotel or an addition to an existing property. The room supply measures the total number of rooms in the marketplace. Room supply will rise if new supply exceeds hotel shutdowns and rooms taken off the market due to a renovation or conversion into a condominium.

Answer 2

Residents of a country whose currency is appreciating in value will be able to buy more foreign products including those in travel and tourism than before. This factor has altered tourism flows between countries.
