Hotels have a much longer history than the airlines but, in a modern sense, the sectors are not that dissimilar in terms of life cycles.

Mr. Eisner should have been more sensitive to French culture and the cultural elite who could shape public opinion and do a better job of educating consumers about the Disney Theme Park experience. He could have also been more critical of the feasibility plan and financial estimates. Finally, he probably should have considered a location closer to Paris and taken greater account of seasonality and weather.
