Answer 1

d

Answer 2

Education played a key role, as more women were going to high school and college. Better students will also note that this was a long-term process, beginning with the rise of industrialization before the Civil War. Students should also be able to identify the issues where women made the biggest political impact, including prohibition and women's suffrage. Good essays should go into some depth on both of these issues, including how women organized themselves to become a greater political force. These better essays should also discuss why women gravitated toward these issues.
