Not accurate at all Students should point to a wide variety of ways that technology enabled whites to settle the West. Without metallurgical techniques, there could not have been a mining industry. Farming came to rely on eastern technology (to say nothing of eastern financing). Without barbed wire and the railroad, there could not have been a cattle industry.
