Answer 1

c

Answer 2

Students should begin by describing how Jackson strengthened the power of the president. Some good examples would include the patronage system, use of the veto, his actions in the Nullification Crisis and his attitude toward Indian removal. Comparing these to the use of the office by his predecessors shows how much Jackson altered the relationship between the executive branch and the rest of government. More advanced students should point out the contradictions in Jackson's strengthening the power of the office, considering his philosophical aversion to a strong central government.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
