Students often ask why Indians didn't unite against the whites. Tecumseh is an example of someone who tried to lead Indians in this direction. Students should see that the key for Tecumseh was a refusal to make additional land cessions. Better students will link him with his brother, Tenskwatawa, and show how he was part of a movement that rejected white America.
