ANSWER: On the surface, the English were the obvious winners, and the French were the obvious losers. But better students will point out that Indians were also losers, lacking the ability to play one colonial power against the other. Students may argue that the British came out of the war with a huge debt and that the colonies were less inclined to follow their lead, now that the French threat was gone. In a sense, the only winners were the British colonists.
