1. The war brought Americans together like never before. There was a common enemy (or enemies) to rally against.
2. People were willing to work together when there was something for everyone to do.
3. Everyone who could, found something to do  those in rural areas stuffed life jackets, for instance. Others sold war bonds.
4. People also moved in support of the common goal.
