In general, outcomes for individuals with deaf-blindness depend on all of the following EXCEPT
◦ The degree and type of visual impairment and auditory impairment can vary dramatically in individuals with deaf-blindness.
◦ The vast majority of students who are deaf-blind have other disabilities and medical conditions.
◦ The more mild the visual and auditory impairments, the greater the impact on a person's ability to adapt.
