Which of the following is true about the chances of becoming disabled?
For people who become disabled for longer than three months, the average duration is over 2.2 years.
The probability of a 35-year-old becoming disabled for three months or longer before they reach age 65 is around 25 percent.
The probability of a 50-year-old becoming disabled for three months or longer before they reach age 65 is around 50 percent.
Because the chance of becoming disabled is small, most people do not need disability insurance coverage.
